Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share my latest craft obsession with you: making paper squishies! If you're anything like me and love a fun, easy DIY project that also doubles as a stress reliever, you're going to adore paper squishies. I recently made a super cute Twix paper squishy, and honestly, it turned out way better than I expected! It's such a satisfying little thing to squish, and it looks just like the real candy bar. Making your own Twix paper squishy is incredibly simple and doesn't require any fancy materials. All you really need is some paper, markers or colored pencils, scissors, clear tape, and something soft for stuffing. For the stuffing, you can use old plastic bags (recycled!), cotton balls, or even cut-up sponges. I find that plastic bags give it the best, crinkly 'squish' sound, which is perfect for a little ASMR experience! Here’s how I made my Twix paper squishy, and you can easily adapt these steps for any candy or food squishy you want to create: 1. Design Your Wrapper: First, you'll need the iconic Twix wrapper design. You can draw it freehand, or for a perfect replica, look up "Twix paper squishy template" online. Pinterest is a treasure trove for these! I actually drew mine, trying to get all the details like the logo and the gold accents just right. Remember to draw two identical sides (front and back) or one long piece that folds over. Make sure to leave a small margin around your design for taping. 2. Color It In: This is where your squishy comes to life! Use your markers, colored pencils, or even paint to bring your Twix design to life. Don't be afraid to get creative with the colors and shading. 3. Cut It Out: Carefully cut out your two Twix wrapper pieces. Try to be precise for a cleaner look. 4. Tape It Up (Most of the Way!): This is the crucial step. Lay one piece of your Twix design face up. Place the second piece face down on top of it, aligning the edges. Now, using your clear tape, start taping the edges together. You want an airtight seal on three sides, but leave one side open – this is where you'll put the stuffing! I usually use a strong, wide packing tape for durability. Overlap the tape slightly for a really good seal. 5. Time to Stuff! Now for the fun part: stuffing your squishy! Gently push your chosen stuffing material into the opening. Don't overstuff it, or it won't be very squishy. You want it to be puffy but still have room to compress. Experiment a little to find your perfect squish level. I sometimes layer different materials to get a unique feel. 6. Seal It Shut: Once your squishy is perfectly plump, tape up the remaining open side. Make sure it's completely sealed so no air escapes too quickly and your stuffing stays put. And there you have it – your very own DIY Twix paper squishy! It's such a rewarding craft, and it makes a fantastic little gift or a fun desk toy. If you're looking for more inspiration, search for "paper squishy ideas easy" or "candy squishy template" on your favorite video platform. There are tons of creative designs out there, from Hershey bars to Nerds squishies and even full food squishy collections. I found that keeping the layers of tape smooth helps a lot with the overall look and feel. And if you're like me and love drawing, trying to replicate specific candy wrappers like a Hershey bar or a bags of Skittles can be a really fun challenge. These paper crafts are not just for kids; they're a wonderful way to relax and engage your creativity. Happy squishing!
