You have to become the squishy 🧘🏼♀️
What should I make next? #Time2TwinIt
Hey squishy makers! You know that moment when you finish a project and instantly think, 'What should I make next?' That's exactly where I am right now, and my mind is buzzing with ideas for a brand-new Katseye squishy! I’ve been seeing so many cool designs lately, and I just can't wait until my Copic markers and new pens arrive so I can dive in. For those of you who might be new to the squishy world, a Katseye squishy is super fun because of its unique, often elongated and slightly pointed shape, resembling a cat's eye – hence the name! They stand out from the typical round or square squishies, offering a really cool canvas for creative designs. The best part? You can totally customize them to reflect your personal style. My first step is always finding the perfect Katseye squishy template. You can find tons of free printables online, which are a great starting point, especially if you're just getting into paper squishies. But honestly, I love the challenge of drawing my own! It lets me really personalize the shape and size. When I’m sketching out a template, I think about what kind of character or object would fit that distinct Katseye shape. For instance, I'm currently pondering a juicy watermelon slice design, perfectly angled to fit the Katseye form. Or maybe even a funky Nerds candy theme, with all those vibrant colors! Speaking of colors, that’s where my Copic markers and new pens come into play. If you're serious about making your paper squishies pop, investing in good quality markers makes a huge difference. Copic markers, for example, offer incredible blending capabilities and a huge range of vibrant shades that just make your designs sing. I love how smoothly they go on paper, giving that professional, finished look. My new pens are perfect for adding those crisp outlines and tiny details that really bring a squishy to life. It’s all about layering and making sure those colors don't bleed. Once I have my template and design, the process is pretty straightforward: print or draw, color it in (making sure to use both sides if it's a 3D squishy!), laminate with clear tape for durability and gloss, cut it out, and then seal the edges, leaving a small opening to stuff it. For stuffing, I usually go for plastic bags or polyfill to get that perfect squishiness. What gets me excited is seeing how a simple piece of paper transforms into something so tactile and fun. It's truly a rewarding craft. So, what do you think? Any brilliant Katseye squishy template ideas you’d love to see come to life? I'm open to suggestions as I plan my next creation – perhaps an avocado Katseye, or even a starry night theme? Let me know your favorite designs or tips for getting that perfect squish!
