Is it Melting Or Squishing

I recently grabbed a bag of Whoppers Snowballs, and honestly, the first thing that popped into my head was, 'Are these going to melt, or are they just super squishy?' It made me think about all those times I’ve seen people wondering if their favorite squishies can melt in the sun. While Whoppers Snowballs aren't your typical foam squishy toy, they definitely have a unique texture that made me curious! When I first opened the bag, I noticed how incredibly soft they felt. Do these Whoppers truly squish? Well, unlike a foam squishy that slowly reforms, these Whoppers Snowballs will definitely deform if you squish them too hard. The coating starts to crack and the whole thing can get a bit crumbly and sticky, especially if your hands are warm. It's less of a 'squish and bounce back' and more of a 'squish and reshape permanently' situation. This brings me to the big question: do they melt? Many of you might be asking, 'Do squishies melt in the sun?' or even specifically about 'taba squishies.' While foam squishies (like taba squishies) are usually made of polyurethane foam which can degrade and become sticky or even 'melt' in extreme heat and direct sunlight due to UV exposure breaking down the material, Whoppers Snowballs are a different kind of beast. Their outer shell is a confectionary coating, likely a type of white chocolate or candy coating. This kind of coating, much like regular chocolate, is absolutely susceptible to melting. I actually left a few out on the counter on a warmer day, and sure enough, after a while, the crisp white coating started to get noticeably softer, almost greasy to the touch. So, while they might not 'melt' in the way foam squishies might break down, their texture undeniably changes significantly with heat, becoming much less appealing. So, how do we keep our Whoppers Snowballs (and other similar treats) in prime condition? Just like you'd protect your foam squishies from direct sunlight to prevent them from becoming sticky or degrading, it's best to store your Whoppers Snowballs in a cool, dry place. A pantry or even the refrigerator (though they might get a bit too hard) works wonders. This ensures that the delicate "Softer than snow" coating remains intact and doesn't turn into a sticky mess. If you're planning to take them on the go, especially on a sunny day, consider using an insulated bag. In conclusion, while Whoppers Snowballs aren't designed to be 'squished' in the traditional sense of a foam toy, their delightful "Softer than snow" texture is definitely sensitive. And yes, their coating can and will melt or soften considerably with heat, much like many confectionery items.
