The Floor Is Squishies So Obsessed
Follow on YouTube for tutorials and templates to make yours. #Time2TwinIt
Oh my goodness, if you're anything like me, you probably feel like 'the floor is squishies' in your craft room! My obsession with paper squishies started innocently enough, but now I can't stop making them. They're such a fun, low-cost craft that brings so much joy, whether you're making them for yourself or as cute little gifts. I’ve had so many people ask me about making paper squishies, especially the adorable dumpling ones. They’re a huge hit because they look so cute and are surprisingly satisfying to squish! If you're searching for a 'squishy dumpling papercraft template,' you're in the right place. While I share detailed video tutorials and free templates on my YouTube channel (search for Time2TwinIt!), I wanted to give you a quick rundown on how I get started with these little bundles of joy right here. First things first, what do you need? It’s super simple! You’ll want some paper (cardstock for durability is great, but regular printer paper works too), clear tape (packing tape is my go-to for that smooth, durable finish), a pair of scissors, and some stuffing. For stuffing, I usually use old plastic bags cut into strips, cotton balls, or even just crumpled paper – whatever gives it that perfect squish! Creating Your Own Squishy Dumpling: Template Time: You can freehand draw your dumpling shape, but using a template makes it so much easier and ensures a perfect dumpling form. Look up 'paper squishy dumpling template free printable' online, or check out my channel for some designs I've made! Print it out or draw two identical dumpling shapes. Decorate! This is the fun part. Before you assemble, decorate both sides of your dumpling. Think cute faces, patterns, or even little steam lines. Markers, colored pencils, or even acrylic paint work wonderfully. Tape It Up: Once your design is dry, place one dumpling piece on top of the other, lining them up perfectly. Now, carefully tape around the edges, leaving a small opening at the bottom or side. Make sure your tape is smooth and covers the entire edge to prevent air leaks later. I usually do two layers of tape for extra durability and a smoother feel. Stuffing Time: Through that small opening, start stuffing your dumpling. Don't be shy! The more stuffing, the squishier it will be. I try to distribute the stuffing evenly to avoid lumpy spots. This is where you can experiment with different materials to find your perfect squish level. Seal It: Once it's perfectly plump, tape up the remaining opening securely. And voilà! You have your very own squishy dumpling. Give it a good squeeze! Now, you might also be wondering about a 'paper squishy shop' – where can you get these adorable creations if you're not in the mood to DIY, or where can you find the best supplies? While making your own is incredibly rewarding, sometimes you just want to browse! For supplies, local craft stores like Michaels or Hobby Lobby often have great deals on tape, paper, and markers. Online, Amazon is fantastic for bulk tape and unique paper. If you're looking for pre-made paper squishies, they're a bit rarer to find in dedicated "shops" because so much of the fun is in the DIY aspect. However, you can often find talented artists selling custom or pre-made paper squishies on platforms like Etsy or even through dedicated craft accounts on Instagram. Sometimes, small local craft markets might also feature artists who create and sell these charming handmade items. Just type "handmade paper squishies" into Etsy, and you'll be amazed by the creativity! Making paper squishies is more than just a craft; it's a little piece of joy you can hold in your hand. I truly hope this helps you get started on your own paper squishy adventure. Happy crafting!
