Protein Shot Review

Got a few different varieties of protein shots to try out. They absolutely help with hitting protein goals- super helpful if you’re a bariatric patient. Not sure if anyone else has turned into the slowest eater on the planet, like me, but I don’t have a full hour for lunch to sit and put the fork down after each bite.

ProTGold: easy on the go, can toss in my lunch bag for a quick pick me up if I’m too busy at work for a sit down lunch. Taste is fine, a little sour but not disgusting sour. Goes down WAYYYY better cold than room temp.

Cost: $48 for a 24 pack averaging $1.80 an ounce

Vidafuel: has a pleasant taste- got citrus burst and it tastes like a creamsicle. Downside is that it doesn’t come in convenient packaging for on the go, the serving size is 2 oz, which isn’t terrible at all- would make a great addition for smoothies though!

Cost: $26 for a 32 oz container averaging $0.84 an ounce

Bariatric Pal Power Pro Shot: this flavor is fruit punch, by far my favorite so far! Comes in a 3 oz pre packaged shot, easy on the go for a giant protein hit if you’re lacking during the day. A lot of bang for your buck with this one.

Cost: $3.99 per each 3 oz shot

... Read moreProtein shots have become a popular choice for those seeking quick and convenient sources of protein, especially for individuals on restricted diets, such as bariatric patients. These shots can offer portable nutrition packed in single-serving containers. ProTGold provides 17g of protein per ounce, making it a good option for busy daytime consumption. Users find that it is best enjoyed chilled. In contrast, Vidafuel’s citrus burst flavor resembles a creamy dessert, making it easy to incorporate into smoothies, though its bulk packaging might not suit someone on-the-go. Additionally, Bariatric Pal’s Power Pro Shot delivers a fruit punch flavor with 30g of protein in a 3oz serving, catering to a quick protein need. When choosing protein shots, factors to consider include protein content, taste preferences, convenience of packaging, and cost-effectiveness. Individuals aiming for higher protein intake without the hassle of solid meals will find these shots invaluable in their daily nutrition regimen. Research suggests that increasing protein intake can aid in muscle recovery and help with weight management, making these products appealing for health-conscious consumers.
