Cross Stitch Crafts
My recent craft obsession - cross stitch pins/keychains. I suffer from agoraphobia that I have been working on for the past 5 years. I am getting better and better, been trying to get over the last of it which is - anxiety in cars. I started cross stitching these as they are nice and compact, so they fit in my purse, it's literally everything I need to make these fit in a pencil bag! These have helped me keep my mind and hands busy and have really helped me during car rides. I am very proud of how far I have come! Anyways enjoy my crafts!

Cross stitching small pins and keychains is an excellent way to combine creativity with mindfulness, especially for individuals dealing with anxiety and agoraphobia. From my experience, the portability of these crafts means that you can carry a complete stitching kit anywhere, which is perfect for moments when distractions are needed, such as during car rides. One thing I found really helpful is customizing patterns to match my mood or environment, which adds a personal touch to each project and keeps me engaged. For beginners, choosing simple designs and high-quality embroidery floss can make the process enjoyable and less frustrating. Plus, having a pencil bag with everything needed — fabric, needles, threads — keeps all supplies organized and accessible. Another advantage is that cross stitching serves as a form of active meditation. Concentrating on the stitches allows the mind to settle and reduces anxious thoughts, creating a sense of accomplishment with each completed piece. This has made a tangible difference in my daily routine, helping me gradually overcome the anxiety that I feel when confined to cars. I highly recommend exploring cross stitch crafts as a therapeutic outlet. The compact nature of pins and keychains means they’re perfect for on-the-go crafting, offering comfort and a creative escape even in challenging situations. If you’re working through anxiety or simply seeking a new hobby that fits in your purse or bag, this might just be the perfect fit.
