My boss keeps saying, "If you participate in more company activities, you can practice Japanese more."
But last year, I tried participating in company activities and drinking parties frequently for about six months. To be honest, I didn't think those activities would be very helpful in improving my Japanese language skills.
Because everyone is kind, the words used by Japanese people and the words used for me are different.
The former is often inaudible and cannot be investigated immediately on the spot.
The latter has many expressions that you already know, which can help you practice fluency, but it is difficult to lead to new learning.
As a result, I just stayed with Japanese people for a long time. I didn't feel much effect on improving my Japanese.
Before coming to Japan, my Japanese was to pass N1 quickly,
It was self-taught in half a year from N5.
I got the qualification, but maybe because it was self-study, I don't think the foundation is very stable.
I often make mistakes in conjugation and particle usage, and my vocabulary is not yet sufficient.
So I'm sorry to my boss, but I haven't been participating in many company activities lately.
Right now, I still think I need to study more thoroughly.
私もかつて、会社の飲み会やイベントに積極的に参加して日本語の実践力を高めようとしました。しかし、社内の会話は優しい言葉遣いで統一されていたり、難しい表現は避けられていて、思ったほど新しい単語や表現を学べませんでした。 さらに、日本語ネイティブ同士の会話では、スピードが速く、敬語や方言も混ざり理解が追いつかないことが多かったです。そのため、ただ長時間日本人と一緒にいるだけでは効果的な学習が難しいと感じました。 私の場合、N5から独学で半年間集中し、N1に合格しましたが、その過程で文法や助詞使いの基礎が十分固まっていないことにも気づきました。基礎力が不安定だと、日常会話での自然な表現や細かいニュアンスの理解に支障が出やすいです。 この経験から、日本語力を伸ばすには、会社の活動だけに頼らず、自分に合った教材や文法解説、単語帳を使ったじっくりとした勉強時間を確保することが重要だと実感しました。自分の弱点を把握し、理解を深める反復学習で基礎固めをしてから実践に活かす方が効率的です。 ただ、会社のコミュニケーションも完全に無駄ではありません。場面ごとの挨拶や親しみやすいフレーズを覚えたり、気軽な雑談で話す自信をつけるためには役立ちます。活用法や助詞がまだ課題の方には、独学の教材でじっくり学びつつ、会社の場では簡単な表現を意識的に使う練習がおすすめです。 ちなみに、OCRで読み取れた「Dusk of COFFEE インドネシア nbal」というテキストは今回の内容には直接かかわっていませんが、もしカフェなどリラックスできる環境で学習できれば、集中力アップにも繋がるかもしれません。
