Who here is a God First person? ❤️🥰

Comment if you are a God first person. I mean coffee may be good, don’t get me wrong, 🥹 but to put an object/food before God and family is a mistake. 🥺Remember the book of Daniel? He put God before meat and was stronger and of better appearance than those who put food before God. 💪🏻 Just think about it, who is better, the food or the being that keeps giving you the food.

... Read moreAfter reflecting on the idea of putting God first, like in the original post, I've really delved deeper into what that truly means for my everyday life. It's so much more than just a phrase; it's a foundation for peace and purpose. The OCR insight 'Everything else later' truly resonates with me now, emphasizing that when God is at the center, everything else falls into its rightful place. Many of us wonder where this concept comes from and if there are specific verses about putting God first. The Bible is actually full of guidance on this! One passage that always comes to mind is Matthew 6:33: 'But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.' This verse isn't just a suggestion; it's a powerful promise. It encourages us to prioritize seeking God's will and living righteously, trusting that our needs will be met. Another passage I find incredibly helpful is Proverbs 3:5-6: 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.' For me, this means letting go of control and truly relying on divine wisdom, acknowledging that He knows what's best. This also made me ponder: why does God want us to be so thorough in putting Him first? What is His aim? I've come to understand it not as God being demanding, but as a loving invitation for our benefit. God isn't looking for us to earn His love; He already gives it freely. Instead, I believe His aim in asking us to put Him first is so we can experience true joy, peace, and abundance that can only come from living in alignment with Him. It's like a loving parent guiding a child away from harm and towards flourishing. He wants us to build a solid, unshakeable foundation in our lives so that when challenges inevitably come, we have an anchor that holds. It's about recognizing the ultimate source of all blessings, rather than getting caught up in the temporary pleasures or anxieties of the world. By putting God first, we acknowledge that 'Everything' truly comes from Him, and 'else later' is a natural outcome of that unwavering trust. So, what does this look like day-to-day for me? It means starting my morning with prayer and scripture before checking my phone or diving into work. It means seeking God's guidance in big decisions and small ones, asking for wisdom. It means being intentional about my schedule and relationships, making sure they reflect my commitment to Him. It's not about being perfect, but about continuously striving to place Him at the forefront of my thoughts and actions. It's a transformative journey, and every step towards putting God first has brought me closer to the peace and purpose I've always craved.

Dear God, I’m tired of being strong.
Holidays hit different when the person who once brought you joy isn’t here anymore. The holidays have always been hard for me- coming from a broken family, this season was never easy. And then I met him… and for the first time, I felt joy during the holidays. He was the smile on my face, the war
