Thus my year so far😁
I have gone to Rome, learned to cook Spanish food from a real Spaniard. Taught as a substitute teacher. Went to Assisi. Found a bird plushy I valued so much, and did much more.
Phew
the 21 daily post challenge is finally over. I can rest more now. 🥹
Wow, what an incredible journey this past year has been! Looking back, it feels like a whirlwind of discovery, learning, and unforgettable moments. I wanted to share a bit more about these experiences, hoping to inspire you to embrace your own adventures! My trip to Italy was truly magical. Rome, with its ancient history, felt alive at every turn. I remember standing in that bustling cobblestone square by a magnificent ornate fountain, just soaking in the atmosphere. It wasn't just about seeing the famous landmarks; it was about the feeling of being part of something so grand and timeless. If you go, make sure to wander off the main paths – that's where you find the real charm, often stumbling upon a hidden garden area or a quaint café. Then, moving onto Assisi, the contrast was beautiful. The serenity of the striped stone piazza leading up to the grand basilica was absolutely breathtaking. It was a place that truly touched my soul, a reminder of peace and history. One of the most delicious highlights was definitely diving into Spanish cuisine. Learning to cook authentic paella from a real Spaniard was an experience I'll never forget! There's something so special about the aroma of saffron and fresh rosemary filling the air, cooking outdoors in a huge pan. It taught me that food isn't just sustenance; it's a connection to culture and people. My tip if you're trying Spanish cooking at home? Don't be afraid to use good quality olive oil and fresh ingredients – it makes all the difference! And then there was my time as a substitute teacher. Stepping into a classroom again was such an eye-opener. It's challenging, rewarding, and full of unexpected moments. I truly cherished connecting with the students and seeing their faces light up when they understood something new. It reminded me of the importance of education and the incredible work teachers do every day. The school building, with its well-maintained lawn, felt like a hub of learning and growth. Even the smaller moments were significant. Like finding that adorable bird plush toy – it might seem silly, but sometimes it's the little treasures we stumble upon that bring the most joy. It sits on my shelf now, a sweet reminder of a happy discovery. Oh, and seeing those beautiful cherry blossoms during one of my trips? Pure bliss! The sheer beauty of nature, even just for a fleeting season, is something to truly appreciate. Completing the 21-day posting challenge was tough, but it pushed me to share more, reflect more, and connect more. It truly helped me document and appreciate all these wonderful experiences. This year has been a testament to saying 'yes' to new opportunities, whether it's travel, learning a new skill, or simply appreciating the small joys. Here's to many more adventures!
