The side hug of reconciliation with my crush

I dated a boy for 3 months, my mom said I could not date him until a year passed but then things became tense for 13 months, until I asked him, am I your Girlfriend and he said, “I only see you as a friend.” That left me confused and heartbroken. From there, things only got worse. He would not say hi to me. He would avoid me and He would look at me with a non-happy look, and not even want to give me a handshake.
