I have seriously the coolest job!
I work for the local county government in the recorders office and as boring as it sounds it’s actually so so interesting!!!
We have so many old maps that are historic and show how our area has changed over the years! This Utah map is just one of so many just OUR office has!!
We also keep every record of recorded documents dating back to the 1870’s (when they started keeping record of land in our area) which is BEFORE Utah was even a state!!! You can see documents of people buying land from the government to homestead it!
My office is also super laid back and I have the best coworkers! I’ve never worked in a more positive work environment before and it truly makes a difference and makes it so much easier to wake up for work each day!
History is such a cool thing and it’s cool to be apart of it and have my name on documents that future generations are going to be able to look at! It’s also cool to be able to have access every day to see the history of our area and how it has evolved over the years!
