Introduction For My New Followers!
I’ve had an influx of followers across my platforms recently, so I figured it was time to reintroduce myself!
Hi, I’m Nemo (AdorkableMeCosplay)! I’m a disabled competitive cosplayer and content creator based out of Texas. I love all things nerdy, fantasy, and horror. You can find me at fantasy events, renaissance faires, conventions, and other nerdy events around Texas! ☺️
I make videos and online content surrounding my original characters, the fantasy genre, my cosplays of canon characters, ren faires, and a variety of other fun concepts. I also host panels at cons and compete in cosplay competitions. (Currently I only compete in the craftmanship division, but I hope to break into skits and performance soon!)
Check me out on my other platforms, and feel free to drop any questions in the comments.
If you made it this far into the caption- where are you from? What brought you to my page? Are you a cosplayer or a rennie? What are your hobbies? Anything cool you’re working on at the moment? Sound off below!
Hey new friends! Since many of you are curious about the person behind the mushroom hat and elf ears, let me share a bit more about my journey. As a disabled competitive cosplayer and ambulatory wheelchair user, my path in the cosplay world comes with unique adventures. I've found so much joy in bringing fantasy characters to life, whether it's through elaborate costumes or dramatic makeup looks, sometimes even incorporating fake blood for that extra touch! My dark gown in an ornate room for a photoshoot, or sporting a purple horn accessory, these are all reflections of the characters I adore. It’s not just about the costumes; it's about the storytelling and the vibrant community I've found. When it comes to my original characters (OCs) versus me, the creator, it’s a fascinating line to walk! Many of you might have seen the 'OC vs Creator' memes, and honestly, sometimes it feels just like that! I pour so much of my imagination into developing my OCs, like Lillia, crafting their backstories and unique aesthetics. My 'OC Building Workshop' panels are where I get to share my process, from initial concept to full character development. It’s a joy to create 'in character videos' and explore 'OC Storylines,' giving them a life beyond just my own persona. This allows me to delve into different facets of fantasy and storytelling, distinct from my everyday self. And speaking of bringing characters to life, let’s talk about makeup! It's such a crucial part of transforming into a character. Whether it's the intricate application for an elf or fairy look, or the more dramatic, sometimes gory, makeup I use for horror-inspired looks (yes, that rosary and fake blood were for a specific character!), I love experimenting. I often share tips on 'Fantasy Garb Inspo' and how makeup plays a vital role in creating a cohesive look. I’m always learning new techniques and adapting them to suit my creative vision. It’s all part of the magic of cosplay! My journey as a 'Cosplayer With A Disability' has also led me to advocate for 'Accessibility In Cosplay & Events,' a topic I'm passionate about and often discuss in panels. It’s about ensuring everyone can experience the magic of events like Sherwood Forest Faire and Texas Renaissance Festival, which are among my favorites. I also love the idea of 'Trinket Trading' at these events – it adds another layer of immersion! I'm genuinely excited to share more 'Fantasy Resource Guide' content and delve deeper into different mythologies, perhaps even a 'Greek Mythology Series' soon. What are your favorite conventions or faire experiences? Let me know!
