The government provides GST rebates, vouchers, and several social subsidies which provide a peace of mind for workers and families alike. Fourth, job opportunities are more abundant and diverse in Singapore. Workers have more choices in sectors and roles, allowing for career growth and mobility. Fifth, the public transport system means less reliance on owning a car, cutting down major living expenses, unlike in Malaysia where owning a vehicle is often necessary. Lastly, Singapore’s social stability and safety greatly contribute to a higher quality of life. Many Malaysians want an environment where they can feel secure and plan long-term for their future and family. All these factors combined explain why many Malaysians not only work in Singapore but also choose to make it their home over time.
