My Custom PC 2 Years Later & What I've Learned

Hey friends, today I wanted to do a 2 year update on my PC build and talk about what I've learned.

- Patience is Key

I saved up for over a year to build my PC. I also took the time to do research and understand what I was buying. Building was fun and nerve-wracking (bc it was my first). It literally took 3/4 hours along with cable management xD

-Dust is the enemy

Cleaning my pc regularly has kept temp and performance in check. It gets tedious but is worth it!

-Future-proofing is real

Spending a little more upfront on certain parts has saved me from having to upgrade too soon.

-It feels more personal

I've become so attached to this PC since I spent my own money and invested my time into it. It's one of my fav tech items I own since I picked it out myself!

After 2 Years I can say it was totally worth it! Even with the occasional trouble shooting I love my PC! 🖤

... Read moreBuilding a custom gaming PC truly is an adventure, and after spending two years with mine, I've gathered even more insights, especially when it comes to making it look as good as it performs! You might be wondering how to get that perfect "custom gaming PC build with RGB components" look, or how to master "PC case decoration." Let me share some of my experiences! When I was planning my build, I knew I wanted a cohesive aesthetic, which led me to choose a white PC case and internal components. The magic of RGB really comes alive when you coordinate it well. For instance, I opted for RGB fans and RAM sticks that could sync up, allowing me to create a stunning white lighting theme that really makes the inside of my case glow. It's not just about raw power; it's about the visual experience too! I remember spending ages comparing different brands of RGB fans, looking at their software compatibility to make sure I could control all the lighting effects from one place. My CPU cooler even has a little screen where I can display a cute pixelated bunny image – it's those personal touches that make it truly *mine*. For anyone looking to dive into RGB components, my biggest tip is to research ecosystem compatibility. Brands like Corsair, NZXT, and Cooler Master often have their own software. Deciding on one or two main brands for your RGB components can save you a lot of headache in getting everything to synchronize. Whether you want a dynamic rainbow wave or a calm, static white glow, having unified control is key. Investing in a good graphics card with integrated RGB lighting was also a game-changer for me; those illuminated fans just add another layer of cool! Beyond the internal glow, "PC case decoration" is where you can really let your personality shine. My setup isn't just about the PC itself; it's about the whole desk environment. I love adding little touches like my glowing bunny lamp and small figurines around my monitor. It creates a cozy and personalized gaming corner. Cable management is another huge one – trust me, a tidy setup makes a world of difference. I spent extra time routing all my cables neatly behind the motherboard tray and using cable ties, which makes the whole area look much cleaner and more professional, even though it's just my personal space. Think about your monitor background, your mouse pad, even your keyboard and mouse – all these elements contribute to the overall aesthetic of your custom gaming setup. It's a continuous process of tweaking and personalizing, but that's what makes it so rewarding!
