Ritchie Blackmore, one of the most influential guitarists in rock history, came out bluntly. That in the guitar industry is full of people with high egos and not very friendly. 🎸 Blackmore is known as the creator of the foundations of hard rock and heavy metal through the bands Deep Purple and Rainbow, as well as being one of the hard-headed figures in the music industry all along. Funny is that the person he hails' really good 'is a name that many people might not expect, which makes this quote suddenly more powerful. Because if Blackmore says who is good - that person must be really good. Of course! 😄 This reflects that at all levels of music, ego and talent are always paired.

ในฐานะคนที่เล่นกีต้าร์มาได้หลายปี ผมเห็นด้วยกับคำพูดของ Ritchie Blackmore ว่านักกีต้าร์หลายคนในวงการมักจะมี ego สูงและบางครั้งก็ไม่ค่อยเป็นมิตร โดยเฉพาะในวงการดนตรีร็อค ซึ่งขึ้นชื่อเรื่องความดุดันและความเข้มข้นในทักษะการเล่นกีต้าร์และบุคลิกภาพของนักดนตรีเอง แต่สิ่งที่น่าสนใจคือการที่ Blackmore เน้นย้ำว่ามีนักกีต้าร์เพียงคนเดียวที่แตกต่างออกไป ซึ่งผมเดาว่าน่าจะเป็นใครสักคนที่มีทั้งความสามารถและจิตใจดี อาจเป็นเพื่อนร่วมวงหรือศิลปินที่เขารู้จักดี ที่ไม่ยึดติดกับความสำเร็จแค่เพียงตัวเองเพียงอย่างเดียว ประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวบอกว่าการรักษาความอ่อนน้อมถ่อมตนแม้จะเป็นมือกีต้าร์ที่เก่งมาก เป็นสิ่งสำคัญมากในวงการนี้ เพราะจะทำให้เราได้รับการยอมรับและทำงานร่วมกับผู้อื่นได้ดีมากขึ้น ในเมืองไทยเอง ผมเห็นนักกีต้าร์หลายคนที่มีทั้งความสามารถและความเป็นมิตรที่ดี ซึ่งสร้างบรรยากาศการเรียนรู้และการแลกเปลี่ยนที่ดีในกลุ่มคนเล่นดนตรี ความเห็นและคำพูดของ Blackmore ทำให้ผมนึกถึงว่าพลังและความสามารถที่แท้จริงนั้นไม่ได้อยู่ที่ทักษะเล่นกีต้าร์เพียงอย่างเดียว แต่หมายถึงการมีทัศนคติที่ดีต่อผู้อื่นด้วย นอกจากนี้จากที่ได้อ่านบทความเพิ่มเติมของ Guitar World ที่เล่าถึงทัศนคติของ Blackmore แสดงให้เห็นว่าวงการกีต้าร์มีความซับซ้อนและมีบุคลิกที่หลากหลาย ทั้งสามารถสร้างแรงบันดาลใจและสร้างความท้าทายต่อกันและกัน เหมือนการขัดเกลาของศิลปินรุ่นสู่รุ่น ที่ต่างคนต่างพยายามแสดงออกซึ่งเอกลักษณ์ของตนเอง แต่สุดท้ายแล้ว การเคารพซึ่งกันและกันและความถ่อมตนจะช่วยให้วงการนี้พัฒนาไปได้อย่างยั่งยืน ผมอยากชวนเพื่อนๆ ที่เล่นกีต้าร์ลองคิดดูว่า เราอยากเป็นนักดนตรีประเภทไหน อยากให้คนอื่นจดจำแบบไหน และวิธีไหนที่เราจะพัฒนาทั้งทักษะและบุคลิกที่ดีไปด้วยกัน การเดินเส้นทางดนตรีไม่ใช่แค่เรื่องฝีมือเท่านั้น แต่เป็นเรื่องของการสร้างความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีและเป็นประโยชน์ร่วมกันในสังคมดนตรี
