On the other hand, Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time is all about science, royalty, and, of course, her signature pink skin, hair, and elegant pink dress and crown. The idea of pairing them up, even if just for an anime-style illustration, really sparked my imagination. What kind of dynamic would they have? Would Bubblegum try to analyze Nergal's shadowy powers with scientific curiosity? Or would Nergal, perhaps, be utterly charmed by her intellect and candy kingdom? Imagining these scenarios is one of the best parts of creating crossover fanart! For this piece, I really focused on capturing their essence while blending them into a cohesive anime aesthetic. I made sure to emphasize Nergal's sharp features and Bubblegum's regal yet sweet demeanor, ensuring each character remained recognizable while adopting the new style. Creating an anime-style illustration like this involves a lot of thought, from character design adaptation to color palettes. I wanted to make sure the 'Nergal x PB' element, represented by that cute pink heart nestled between them, felt natural and organic to the piece. It's amazing how much personality you can convey through just a few lines and colors, especially when translating characters from one animation style to another. I spent time studying various anime art styles to find the perfect balance that would honor both original designs while giving them a fresh, modern look. The goal was to create something that would make fans of both shows do a double-take and hopefully bring a smile to their faces.
