Term 1 over now to Term 2🌸
This term was a little challenging towards the end especially in fundamentals but I got through it.
Starting nursing school is definitely a rewarding yet demanding experience. From my own journey, the transition between terms, especially moving past the fundamentals courses, feels like an uphill climb but one that's very doable with perseverance. During Term 1, I found that the fundamentals of nursing—both theory and practicum—demanded not just memorization but applying knowledge in real-world scenarios. For example, mastering courses like NUR150 Fundamentals of Nursing-Theory and NUR151 Fundamentals of Nursing-Practicum challenged me to balance classroom learning with practical skills. Achieving around 80-90% in these classes felt like a huge milestone considering how complex human anatomy and physiology concepts seemed initially. One key to managing these challenges was breaking down complex information into smaller, manageable parts and consistently reviewing material daily. Forming study groups with fellow nursing students helped me gain different perspectives and better retention. As I move into Term 2, I’m focusing on sharpening my clinical reasoning skills and maintaining that strong foundation. Recognizing that terms build on one another has encouraged me to stay organized and seek help whenever needed. Engaging with hashtags like #nursingjourney and connecting with online nursing communities has also provided motivation and support. If you’re facing similar struggles, remember that improvement is gradual. Celebrate small wins like passing anatomy or achieving high practicum scores. Nursing is a demanding yet incredibly fulfilling path, and with determination, you too can overcome challenges encountered during your studies.
