cardio heavy week 🏃🏽♀️
I’m slowly building up my weekly workouts, hoping to get back to weightlifting this summer along with training for a 10K.
Still using my Apple Watch and slowly learning Strava for easier sharing!
Tried a new hydration drink: Roar - especially necessary with UV of 8 and 86° in Florida today!
Starting a cardio-heavy workout week can feel both exciting and challenging, especially when balancing multiple fitness goals. From personal experience, gradually increasing running distances while using technology like the Apple Watch and Strava app has been a game changer for tracking progress and staying motivated. For example, this week, I tracked runs of about 3 to 4.5 miles, with avg paces around 14:30-15:40 minutes per mile, which helped me listen to my body's responses without pushing too hard. Learning Strava was particularly useful for sharing workouts with a supportive community, which I found encouraging during hot and humid summer days in Florida where UV indexes soar to 8 or more. Staying hydrated is critical in such conditions. I tried the organic Roar hydration drink recently, which replenished electrolytes effectively during runs, helping me maintain energy when temperatures hit the mid-80s. If you’re training for a 10K like I am, incorporating cross-training elements such as weightlifting can enhance muscle strength and running efficiency. My plan includes returning to weightlifting this summer, complementing cardio sessions to reduce injury risk and improve overall performance. In summary, combining cardio workouts with technology aids, proper hydration, and strength training can set a strong foundation for a successful running season. The key is to progress gradually, monitor body signals, and enjoy the journey toward your fitness goals.
