The Private DNS feature establishes a secure DNS connection that prevents third parties from seeing your browsing data and blocks domains known for delivering advertisements and trackers. To set up Private DNS on your Android device, go to Settings, then Connections or Network settings, find 'More connection settings,' and look for 'Private DNS.' Select 'Private DNS provider hostname' and enter 'dns.adguard.com,' then save the settings. Your device may require a restart or reconnection to apply the changes. Besides DNS blocking, combining this approach with trusted ad-blocking apps that do not require root access can further enhance your ad-free experience. Also, enabling airplane mode when playing offline games can avoid ads triggered by online connectivity. While this method is free and effective, keep in mind that some apps may detect ad-blockers and limit functionality or prompt to disable them. Always assess your app permissions and ensure you have an alternative to support developers if you appreciate their content. Overall, by using Private DNS with AdGuard's secure servers, I noticed a significant drop in intrusive ads and smoother gameplay and browsing on my Samsung device.
