Yesterday I visited FAO Schwarz at Rockefeller Center — one of the most iconic toy stores in New York City.

The store features a wide selection of toys, collectibles, and the famous floor piano where visitors can step and play. The main highlight is the Jellycat Diner, a creative and beautifully designed setup inspired by the popular plush brand.

Open daily from 10 AM inside Rockefeller Center, Manhattan, New York City.

... Read moreIf you ever find yourself in Manhattan, a visit to FAO Schwarz at Rockefeller Center is a must for both kids and adults alike. This legendary toy store has been a beloved destination for generations, offering not just toys but an immersive experience. One of the standout attractions is the floor piano, famously featured in movies that invites visitors to literally step on the keys and play music—making it a fun photo and video opportunity. Another unique aspect worth checking out is the Jellycat Diner, an imaginative setup inspired by the renowned plush toy brand Jellycat. This exhibit brings plush toys to life in a creatively designed diner environment, which is both visually stunning and perfect for fans of the soft and quirky Jellycat collections. The diner incorporates whimsical elements that showcase the charm of Jellycat plushies in a playful setting, enhancing the shopping experience. Beyond the Jellycat Diner, FAO Schwarz hosts a vast array of toys, collectibles, and specialty items that cater to diverse interests, from classic dolls and action figures to cutting-edge gadgets and puzzles. The store’s location inside Rockefeller Center means visitors can combine their toy exploration with sightseeing in one of NYC’s most iconic spots. Plan your visit on any day from 10 AM onwards to enjoy the store without rush. Exploring FAO Schwarz can be a magical experience whether you are hunting for a special gift, reliving childhood memories, or simply enjoying a fun day out in New York City. For those curious about things to do in NYC, including FAO Schwarz on your itinerary adds a nostalgic and interactive element to the trip. Don’t forget to share your experience and tag #faoschwarz and #thingstodoinnyc to connect with others who appreciate this unique store and its creative attractions.
