It's just a little bit of a crush...
Have you ever just met someone and been totally captived by their appearance? I'm not sure if I'm one that believes in love at first sight, but my goodness. So let me explain, a story within a story. Recently, I lost my wallet and then had it returned to me. However, right before I met with the person who had it. I was in the process of getting a new debit card. (I had been convinced I wasn't going to find my wallet.) I visited the only branch near my job, and the place looked like a building off of wayside elementary. It was really weird for a bank.
Once I entered, I went up these stairs, and there he was. The first thing that caught my attention was his eyes. Maybe I've been reading too many romance novels lately, but he looked at me with "Bedroom eyes." I'm sure that's just the way he looks at everyone, but my goodness, how does one look at people like that? I was smittened. He had a short rocker style haircut, small hoop earrings, and a really nice navy blue suit. How nice would it be to date a guy that handsome was all I could think in that moment.
Sometimes, I wish I were more confident. I would have asked him if he was seeing anyone, but I have so much anxiety. The last thing I wanted was to make a fool of myself or make him think I was weird. Which yes, I am a weird girl, but not that kind of weird. lol.
However, it's so hard with guys now a days. They look older in appearance and then you find out how young they actually are in age. The opposite happens when people look at me. They always assume I'm straight out of hs, when in reality, it's been years since I've been in hs.
I told him the story of how I lost my wallet and he was really nice and listened to me. The next day, I got a call from a number I didn't recognize. It was him. I was at work and didn't hear my phone, so he left me a voicemail. He asked me if I had found my wallet along with how I thought the service he provided was. I know he's just doing his job, but something about it made my heart flutter for some reason.
I can be an impulsive person sometimes. So I did what every stupid girl does. I fumbled. BADLY!
I went back to that bank, and he told me how he had called me, and I told him how I had gotten his voice message. I told him that someone had returned my wallet, but I couldn't hold back how mesmerizing I thought he was. I'm pretty sure I looked at him like this 😍
why am I so embarrassing? This guy could have a girlfriend, a boyfriend for all I know, and here I am googly eyed staring at him. Or he could be wayyyy too young for me. Also, I wasn't just being a creep. I had to deposit money into my account, and he had told me the day before that I should do it at the bank until I get my new card. During our conversation, he complimented my outfit, and that caused my brain to lose all logic, thoughts, etc. While I know nothing will come of this encounter, because 1) I'm ugly and 2) I don't know him, I'm actually glad that it happened. After my last breakup, I didn't know if I'd ever feel my heart flutter for a guy again or not.
I know one day, I'll meet someone who's for me. I just have to be patient and let the universe do what it does best.
