A Virtuous Business
Okay. So I watched this k-drama at work back in November and I did not expect to like it as much as I did. I was genuinely surprised.

The story takes place in 80s South Korea, with our lead character Han Jeong-suk. After wanting to make enough money in order to buy her son a backpack for school, she finds out through an ad in her local newspaper of a job hiring. Once she gets to the job presentation, she ends up finding out that the job involves selling adult toys. At first, she's hesitant wondering what others in her small town will think of her if she takes the job, but then she becomes inspired and ends up taking it. What follows next is a serious of life lessons, some good and some bad. Along the way, we'll get to the 2nd part of the story that involves our male lead Kim Do-hyun, a man who was sent from South Korea to the U.S to be adopted as a baby but ends up coming back to South Korea in hopes of finding his birth mother. Both of our leads will meet when someone vandalizes Jeong-suk's home, Do-hyun now a detective in the town will discover some hidden secrets that this small town holds.
Overall, there is so much that happens in this drama but i'm trying not to spoil it too too much. I loved it! 10/10! This drama made me laugh, made me cry, and had lots of family dynamic scenes that made my heart flutter and break at times. The age rating is up there, but in my personal opinion, it didn't show anything like an American show that's rated M. So do what you will with that info.
