Ellie is goated
After all these years this game is still elite. I’ve always been a massive fan. And I’m stoked for season 2
I absolutely agree with the original post – The Last of Us Part 2 and Ellie are undeniably 'goated'! Even now, years after its release, I find myself thinking about Ellie's journey and the incredible impact this game had on me. It’s not just a game; it’s an emotional rollercoaster that sticks with you long after the credits roll. Ellie's character development in Part 2 is just phenomenal. She's not just a survivor; she's a force of nature, driven by a raw, visceral need for justice and revenge. This intensity, this absolute dedication to her goal, is what makes her so compelling. You see her transform, facing unimaginable horrors, and it’s a constant reminder of how far a person can be pushed. There are moments where she feels almost like a 'mistress' of her own destiny, taking control and asserting her will in a world that constantly tries to break her. Her determination to see things through, no matter the cost, is both awe-inspiring and heartbreaking. The combat encounters in this game are legendary, and they perfectly illustrate Ellie's fierce spirit. I still remember those heart-pounding moments, creeping through overgrown Seattle, hearing the chilling calls of the WLF soldiers. You’d hear them yelling things like 'Kevin! Push in!' or 'Keep up the pressure!' and your heart would just pound. The sheer desperation in their voices – 'Oh, Jesus!!', 'Motherfucker!', 'Oh god!!' – as Ellie systematically takes them down, is something else. It really makes you feel the weight and brutality of each encounter. It's not just shooting; it's a desperate fight for survival, where every arrow, every stealth kill, every shotgun blast feels earned. The game truly makes you feel like you're Ellie, mastering these brutal situations to achieve her objective. What makes The Last of Us Part 2 stand out for me is its willingness to explore themes of grief, revenge, and empathy in such a complex way. It challenges you to think, to question your own morality, and to understand perspectives beyond your own. This isn't just a gaming experience; it's a deep dive into human nature itself, presented with unparalleled cinematic quality and gameplay mechanics. I'm genuinely stoked for what comes next, whether it's another season of the show or a continuation of the game's story. The world Naughty Dog created, and especially Ellie’s place within it, is just too rich to let go of. It's a game that truly cemented its place as an 'elite' title in my gaming library, and I know I'll be replaying it for years to come.
