Wow glitch
This is the last time I listen to him. I actually died and was afraid I couldn’t res. Thought it was over
Okay, so I was just trying to help a friend with the classic "The Legend of Stalvan" quest in World of Warcraft, right? It's one of those iconic, spooky lore quests in Duskwood that everyone talks about. I'd done it a few times before, but this time... oh man, this time was different. We were deep in the manor, tracking down clues about poor Stalvan Mistmantle, and things were getting intense. The atmosphere in that place is always so creepy, you can practically hear the whispers. We got to the part where you uncover the grim truth, and suddenly, everything went sideways. One minute I was fighting off a spectral butler (or something equally spooky), and the next, my screen just froze for a split second. When it came back, my character was on the ground, dead! And not just dead, but I couldn't release spirit! I was like, "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" to my friend, because it felt like some weird glitch or a trap I'd never encountered before. My friend was laughing but also panicking, asking if I was really stuck. I swear, for a moment, I thought it was over for my character, like some kind of permanent death bug. My heart was racing! "The Legend of Stalvan" is a really immersive questline, taking you through the tragic tale of Stalvan Mistmantle, a former tutor who goes mad and commits a heinous act. You start in Darkshire, gathering clues from various NPCs, slowly piecing together the events that led to his downfall. It's not just a 'kill X mobs' quest; it's a detective story! You visit locations like the manor and the farmhouse, uncovering letters and journals that reveal his descent into madness and violence. It's a key piece of lore for anyone exploring the darker side of Azeroth. Now, about my "glitch." While it might have been a momentary internet hiccup or just a really unlucky combination of abilities, the manor itself can be quite dangerous. There are often packs of undead, and sometimes, if you're not careful with your pulls, you can get overwhelmed quickly. I remember one time, trying to pull a single mob, and suddenly three more appeared from thin air – not a glitch, just bad pathing or aggro range, but it felt just as unfair! And if you die in a tricky spot, retrieving your corpse can be a nightmare, especially with respawning enemies. That's probably why I felt so trapped; the thought of running all the way back through those creepy halls, only to die again, was not appealing. To avoid my scare, here are a few tips for "The Legend of Stalvan": Go Prepared: Make sure your gear is decent for your level, and bring health potions or any buffs you can get. Duskwood is not a place to wander unprepared. Read the Lore: Don't just rush through! Read the quest text and the items you find. It makes the experience so much richer and helps you understand why Stalvan's story is so impactful. Mind Your Aggro: Especially in the manor, pull carefully. Those undead can hit hard, and getting swarmed is a quick ticket back to the graveyard. If you're going solo, take it slow. Bring a Friend (a helpful one!): While my friend seemingly got me into trouble, having a partner makes the quest much easier. Just make sure they don't lead you into a "glitchy" death trap! Know Your Escape Routes: If things go south, sometimes running is the best option. Know where the exits are, or if you can use an ability to disengage. In the end, after a few anxious minutes, my character finally released. It turned out to be a really bizarre lag spike combined with getting hit by a particularly nasty spell right as I was about to hit my own heal. So, not a 'glitch' in the game itself, but definitely a glitch in my gameplay experience! This quest is a must-do in WoW, just maybe try not to die in a way that makes you think you're permanently stuck like I did! You definitely don't want your friends asking, "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" when you're frozen on the ground.
