I've found that the key to feeling great in what I wear, especially as I've moved past my 40s, is to focus on how clothes fit and make me feel right now rather than worrying if they're 'age-appropriate.' It's about embracing the body and life you have today, as the OCR phrase 'does it fit the body I have TODAY?' perfectly highlights. One thing I've learned is that fashion doesn't have a strict expiration date. Rather than asking myself "Am I too old to wear this?", I consider whether a piece aligns with my personal style and complements my current shape. For instance, I love to mix classic silhouettes with modern accessories, which keeps my wardrobe fresh and true to who I am right now. It's also important to adapt to changes gracefully—our bodies transform, and so can our wardrobes. Custom tailoring or choosing stretch fabrics can make a huge difference in fit and comfort. Layering pieces thoughtfully allows versatility and lets you express yourself uniquely each day. Most importantly, confidence is the best accessory. Dressing for the woman you are today means celebrating your individuality at every stage, not holding on to who you were or stressing about who you might be. This mindset shift has truly empowered me to enjoy fashion as a celebration of my life today, and it can do the same for others navigating style over 40.
