Flexibility is important for any type of job, but whats the catch? For Gen X, some companies don't have pensions, but a 401(k). The companies might match your contributions to a certain percentage (about 5%), but the 401(k) is like investing in the Stock Market. For example, I lost 1/3rd of my 401k during the 2008 recession. (It came back a year or two later.)
