Leaf, Branch, or Root: Know Who’s Meant to Stay

2/4 Edited to

... Read moreIn life, we encounter all kinds of people, but not all are meant to stay with us through thick and thin. Reflecting on the concept of Leaf, Branch, and Root people can be quite eye-opening. Leaf people, like their name suggests, are transient—they drift in and out of our lives depending on the circumstances. They often show up when things are easy and fun but vanish when challenges arise. While it's natural to have such fleeting connections, understanding their nature helps prevent disappointment when they leave. Branch people are a bit more complicated. They offer support and seem reliable, but under pressure, their strength wanes. If life gets too difficult, they might distance themselves to avoid the hardship. I've noticed that sometimes we invest too much hope in these relationships, expecting steadfast loyalty, and that leads to hurt when they pull away. Recognizing branch people allows one to adjust expectations realistically. The truly invaluable Root people are those rare souls who stand firm through every storm. They don’t just stay for the good times but remain supportive and caring even during struggles. From my experience, these are the friendships and relationships worth nurturing. They form the foundation of our emotional well-being and personal growth. Learning to distinguish these types has profoundly impacted how I approach relationships. It has taught me to appreciate those who are genuinely present and not to waste energy clinging to relationships that are seasonal or conditional. Remember, it’s okay to let go of leaf and branch people and cherish the root people who accept you unconditionally. Building your inner circle with such roots will ultimately provide strength and resilience in life.

🚨Paging Dr. Leaf: Saving a Dying Plant (Root Rot)

✨🪴One fallen leaf doesn’t mean it’s over!
Before you pop a cutting in water—WAIT 24 hours! Here’s why: When a stem is freshly cut, it’s still soft and open. If you put it straight into water, it can rot instead of root. Letting it callous gives it time to seal and protect itself, just like a scab—then it’s safe to propagate! TLDR: ✂
