For example, waking up between 5 and 6 a.m. without snoozing—though tough at first—provides a powerful sense of control over my day. This morning time allows me to ground myself through reflection before the distractions of the day start, similar to the recommendation of 20 minutes of Bible study or meditation before opening my phone. Additionally, blocking out deep work time for 90 minutes in the morning, free from meetings or notifications, has significantly boosted my productivity. This focused period helps me tackle the hardest tasks early, aligning with the habit of doing the hard thing first. Over time, combining these habits with training my body according to a custom plan enhanced my physical and mental performance, revealing how our body truly is the operating system as mentioned in the habits list. Surrounding myself with people who challenge me also created a positive environment for continuous growth. Finding mentors and peers who are further along in their success has offered invaluable inspiration and accountability. Lastly, writing down a personal standard to raise and pinning it where I can see daily has helped me uphold a discipline mindset, proving that how you do one thing is how you do everything. These habits aren’t added all at once but mastered one by one, creating compounding improvements that build high performance over time. If you start today with any one of these steps—whether protecting your morning rituals or planning your week in advance—you are on the path to building the success you want. What matters most is commitment and consistency, because high performers are truly built by what they repeatedly do.
