Dealing with First Car Loss💔

First Picture : My Red Acura Truck named Big Red. I loved her and everybody else loved her too. Any time I came around people would say “oop there go big reddd”😄 Her lease came to a close and it was time to get another car

Second picture: the new car. I disassociate with this car. I don’t feel the same in this car, it’s the same exact car just 4 years newer and better modeled. I deny everything about this car. It’s not as smooth as big red, its not as FAST as big red, it’s never heard me cry like big red it’s never been there for me like big red has. But the car is very luxury and nice I know I’ll love it eventually but I feel like I’m abandoning Big red…

How can I adjust to this car and give it a chance?

What should this cars name be?

So far I wanna name it turbo, what are your names for it?

Many people find it tough to let go, especially when the new car feels like a substitute. You might also experience a sense of loss even if you know your new vehicle is an upgrade in features and performance. To ease the transition, spend time personalizing your new car, like deciding on a fun name that resonates with you. Reach out to friends or community forums discussing car names and see how others have embraced their new vehicles. Recognizing the unique traits of your new car and allowing yourself to form new memories can also help in overcoming feelings of nostalgia for your first car. In addition, embracing the finances and practicality of a new car can shift your mindset positively. If you struggle with emotional attachment, consider journaling about your feelings or even having a small farewell ceremony for your first car. Sharing your story with fellow car enthusiasts can also validate your emotions and offer support in the adjustment period.
