Firstly, the two-week lapse in consistent running may have led to a decline in my stamina, evident in the heaviness I felt in my legs. Nutrition also impacts performance. For instance, I might not have consumed enough electrolytes, as forgetting to take a salt chew can play a significant role in hydration and energy levels during intense workouts. Moreover, tackling a challenging hill without adequate preparation can exacerbate fatigue, especially when your body isn't accustomed to hard runs right away. Using data from apps like Strava can provide insights into pace and distance, helping runners understand their performance better. For example, knowing I completed 2.31 miles at an 11:41 pace gives me a benchmark to improve upon. To avoid similar struggles in the future, incorporating a balanced diet, proper hydration, and maintaining consistency in my running schedule will be key. By addressing these factors, I can work towards transforming challenging runs into more enjoyable experiences.
