💙 Nightbane by Alex Aster

I know people has SO MUCH to stay about this series but I actually loved them. I thought the story was so so fun and it had all the classic tropes that I know our book community loves. And without saying too much, the twists and love triangle are chefs kiss 😘

🔥 Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros

If you know me AT ALL you know I’m obsessed with Fourth Wing. It’s truly my entire personality. This installment of the Emperyian Series just fueled that fire. I know that people had a lot to say about the Xayden and Vi distant in this book but this is only book two and I feel like it’s so important for Vi to develop as a character on her own and this was so needed. And Tairn is the bestie and we got a lot of him 😭😂

💛 THE PLATED PRISONER SERIES!!!!!! BY RAVEN KENNEDY

... Read moreSpeaking of the Empyrean series, I know so many of you, just like me, are absolutely captivated by every single detail Rebecca Yarros crafts. We live for the dragons, the cadets, and especially the incredibly complex characters. And let's be real, who hasn't spent hours dissecting every interaction and every hint about their favorite (or least favorite!) characters? One character that always sparks intense discussion in the fandom, and honestly, one I find myself thinking about a lot, is Taladaius. He might not always be front and center, but his presence, his motivations, and his potential impact on the unfolding story are just... chef's kiss for a romantasy fan like me who loves to dig deep into the lore. For those who might be new to the series or are just looking for a refresher, Taladaius is a fascinating figure within the Empyrean world, often associated with the Venin and holding a significant, albeit often mysterious, role in the larger conflict. His appearances, even brief ones, always leave a lasting impression and raise more questions than answers. What I find so compelling about Taladaius is how he challenges our perceptions of good and evil within the series. Rebecca Yarros does such an incredible job of blurring those lines, and Taladaius is a prime example. Is he purely a villain, or is there more to his story that we haven't uncovered yet? His actions, especially in Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, have such far-reaching consequences, influencing everything from political alliances to the personal struggles of our beloved main characters. I'm always on the edge of my seat wondering when he'll make his next move, and what it will mean for Xaden and Violet. His machinations add a layer of intrigue that truly elevates the stakes of the entire narrative. Honestly, a big part of the fun of reading Fourth Wing and Iron Flame for me is joining in on the fan theories. And Taladaius? He's a goldmine for speculation! Is he truly unredeemable? Does he have a deeper connection to certain characters that we're yet to discover? How will his storyline intertwine with the ongoing war against the Venin, and what ultimate role will he play in the fate of Navarre? These are the questions that keep me up at night, re-reading passages and scouring forums for new insights. It adds such an exciting layer of depth to what is already an incredibly immersive world. Every mention of him, every cryptic clue, sends the fandom into a frenzy, and I'm right there with them, trying to piece together the puzzle. If you're as obsessed with the Empyrean series as I am, and you find yourself constantly thinking about characters like Taladaius, then you absolutely understand the allure of these books. They aren't just about the dragons and the romance; they're about the intricate web of relationships, power struggles, and moral dilemmas that make us come back for more. It's why I can confidently say that Iron Flame continues to fuel my love for this world, and I can't wait to see how characters like Taladaius evolve (or devolve!) in future installments. What are YOUR thoughts on Taladaius? Do you have any wild theories you're dying to share? I'd love to hear them!
