Vday can be celebrated anywhere, even at the airport! (It’s giving rom-com)
I made sure to try Dunkin’ Donuts strawberry frosted donut with sprinkles and it didn’t disappoint. For airport food the donut was surprisingly still soft and fluffy! ☺️ the strawberry taste was present but wasn’t overpowering and the pink color felt extra festive 💗
If strawberry isn’t your vibe they also have a chocolate frosted and vanilla frosted with the same cute pink heart sprinkles. Make sure to give them a try!
The only thing that would make this better is if the donut itself was shaped as a heart as well but for $1.94 (for airport pricing) it’s a relatively inexpensive, fast, and festive snack on the go 🍩
... Read moreOkay, so you've heard about Dunkin's Valentine's Day donuts, but let's really talk about that Strawberry Frosted with Sprinkles one! After trying it, even while I was rushing through DFW, I couldn't stop thinking about it. It truly makes a regular day feel special, living up to the 'VALENTINES ON THE GO' vibe I saw on my picture. It’s like a little burst of joy in donut form!
First off, let's dive into the flavor. The original article mentioned the strawberry taste was present but not overpowering, and I totally agree. It's not an artificial, candy-like strawberry, but rather a pleasant, slightly creamy strawberry essence that perfectly complements the sweet, soft frosting. The frosting itself is generous, providing that satisfying sugar rush without being cloyingly sweet. It melts in your mouth, combining beautifully with the classic Dunkin' donut base. And speaking of the base, the fact that it was still so incredibly soft and fluffy, even hours after being made, really impressed me. You know how some donuts can get stale quickly? Not this one! It held its texture beautifully, making every bite a delight. Every time I take a bite, I'm reminded of that perfect balance between sweetness and a subtle fruitiness.
Now, those sprinkles! They're not just any sprinkles; the OCR results reminded me that they are often heart-shaped and white, mixed with the vibrant pink ones. They add a delightful, subtle crunch that contrasts nicely with the soft donut and smooth frosting. It's that little textural detail that makes it feel extra special and definitely screams Valentine's Day. It's clear Dunkin' put thought into making this donut visually appealing and fun, which is exactly what you want for a festive treat. The visual appeal really boosts the celebratory mood, even if you’re just grabbing it on a busy morning.
While I grabbed mine for $1.94 at DFW airport, which felt like a steal for a quick, delicious snack, prices can vary slightly by location, typically ranging from $1.80 to $2.20. These seasonal treats usually pop up a few weeks before Valentine's Day, often starting in late January, and stick around until the holiday passes, sometimes even into early March, so grab them while you can! They're perfect for treating yourself, surprising a friend, or even sharing a sweet moment with a loved one. And if you're looking for a pairing, I found that a classic iced coffee or even a hot white chocolate latte really enhances the strawberry notes. It turns a simple donut into a mini celebration, making your coffee break feel a bit more luxurious.
Compared to their other Valentine's offerings, like the chocolate or vanilla frosted varieties, the strawberry one truly stands out for its unique flavor and vibrant color. If you're pondering which one to try, I'd definitely lean towards the strawberry frosted with its signature heart-shaped sprinkles. It's a simple pleasure that brings a little bit of joy and festivity to your day, whether you're at home, at work, or yes, even at the airport! It’s truly a testament to how small treats can brighten up even the most ordinary moments, especially when they're as charming and delicious as this one.
wow how festive! 😍
