First Public Tantrum at 16 Months 😬
"esterday my 16-month-old had her first tantrum in public… and wow, it was something else. 😅
Totally unprepared for the intensity, I felt all eyes on us while she screamed and flailed. I tried to calm her, but she was not having it. It was equal parts hilarious, exhausting, and humbling.
Fellow parents, how did you survive your first public tantrum? Any tips for keeping your cool (or surviving the judgmental stares)? I feel like every parent has a story like this, and I need some solidarity right now.

Omg the first public tantrum hits like a jump scare 😭 I swear nothing prepares you for that moment when your sweet little baby suddenly turns into a floppy noodle screaming on a sidewalk. And yes, the judgmental stares??? Parang may audience talaga. What helped me was literally stepping back for a second, taking a breath, and reminding myself: “This is normal. My kid isn’t broken. I’m not a bad parent.” I try to keep my voice super calm (even though inside I’m panicking lol) and give them space until they settle. Distraction sometimes works like pointing out a dog or a leaf but sometimes you just have to ride it out.
