We actually visited on September 14th, and the weather was just perfect for all our outdoor adventures! First up, you absolutely have to visit the Memphis Zoo. It’s not just any zoo; it’s consistently ranked as one of the best in the country. Our kids were absolutely mesmerized by the giant pandas, the playful polar bears, and the impressive African savannah exhibit. What I loved most was how spacious and well-designed it was, making it easy to push a stroller or let the older kids roam a bit. They also have fantastic splash pads in the summer, which are a lifesaver on warmer days! It’s truly one of the best family attractions in Memphis. Another gem for families is the Children's Museum of Memphis. This place is a wonderland of hands-on learning and imaginative play. My kids spent hours in the "downtown" area, pretending to be doctors, construction workers, and even grocery store clerks. The outdoor area, with its giant climbing structures and water play, was also a huge hit. We also took a stroll down by the Mississippi River at Mud Island Riverwalk, which offers incredible views of the city skyline and a unique scale model of the lower Mississippi River, perfect for a little geography lesson. We found several casual eateries that catered to little appetites, and of course, a sweet treat from a local ice cream shop was always a welcome reward after a day of exploring.
