From the nurse, to the nurse student, Ep.2, dealing with the mean.
🩺 EP.2 Intern in this ward. What should I do?
The rumor of "mean brother" is something that almost every nursing student must hear before training in that ward.
And you... have also been through it. 😅
In my experience, there are about three kinds of "mean brothers."
Type 1: Damn first, fuss, damn
Truly mean, but still good to "curse and teach" even if stressed, but we get full knowledge. Mental health may be a little bad, but it's worth it.
Type 2: Indifferent. Don't care.
We ask and don't answer. Walk through like I don't see. This is a quiet heartlessness that makes me feel impersonal.
Type 3: Damn too. Don't teach too.
This is the ultimate of Toxic. These people don't care how we feel and don't intend to teach anyone.
I want to say, "The first is easier to deal with," because at least he teaches, and the second and third types are the real thing about the word toxic 🧠.
💡 How to deal: Don't "deal"
Do not exchange our mental health with anyone's words.
Some people may not even know they're toxic, but we do, so get yourself away.
Don't forget that we still have a "group teacher" who is always on our side. If you feel really unokay or mistreated, don't be afraid to consult the teacher. 💬
And at the end of the training, there will be an evaluation of training resources, which is very important because it will help the next generation of children gain better information and experience from what we have been through.
🩶 The most important thing is, "Don't let anyone destroy us."
Always do our best first
Don't let anyone's words or insults make us discouraged or burned out.
And most importantly...
Don't become the kind of person we don't like.

ประสบการณ์ฝึกงานในวอร์ดของนักศึกษาพยาบาลนั้นไม่ใช่เรื่องง่าย โดยเฉพาะเมื่อต้องเผชิญกับพี่พยาบาลที่มีพฤติกรรมใจร้ายหรือที่เรียกว่า "พี่ใจร้าย" อย่างที่ได้กล่าวถึงในบทความ การรู้จักจำแนกประเภทของพี่ใจร้าย และการเรียนรู้วิธีรับมืออย่างถูกต้องนั้นสามารถช่วยให้นักศึกษาฝึกงานผ่านช่วงเวลานี้ไปได้โดยไม่ทำลายสุขภาพจิต ในวงการพยาบาล ความเครียดและแรงกดดันจากการฝึกงานในวอร์ดเป็นเรื่องปกติ แต่การเผชิญกับพี่ใจร้ายที่มีพฤติกรรม Toxic นั้นอาจทำให้น้องๆ รู้สึกโดดเดี่ยวและหมดกำลังใจได้ การรับมือกับพี่ใจร้าย ไม่จำเป็นต้องพยายามเลี่ยงหรือเผชิญหน้าอย่างตรงๆเสมอไป แต่ควรเน้นไปที่การรักษาสุขภาพจิตของตนเองเป็นหลัก หนึ่งในวิธีที่มีประโยชน์คือการตระหนักรู้ถึงความรู้สึกของตนเองและประเมินสถานการณ์อย่างมีสติเพื่อป้องกันไม่ให้คำพูดหรือการกระทำของพี่ใจร้ายส่งผลเสียต่อจิตใจ นอกจากนี้ การหาความช่วยเหลือจากอาจารย์ประจำกลุ่มหรือผู้มีอำนาจที่คอยดูแลในระหว่างฝึกงานก็เป็นสิ่งสำคัญ เพราะสิ่งนี้จะช่วยให้น้องๆ ได้รับคำปรึกษาและการแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างถูกต้องโดยไม่ต้องเผชิญกับความเครียดเพียงลำพัง อีกประเด็นที่ควรสนใจคือการประเมินแหล่งฝึกที่หลังจบการฝึกงาน ซึ่งเป็นช่องทางสำคัญสำหรับนักศึกษาพยาบาลที่จะสะท้อนประสบการณ์จริง และช่วยให้องค์กรหรือสถานพยาบาลปรับปรุงบรรยากาศการฝึกงานให้ดีขึ้น ทำให้รุ่นน้องที่จะตามมาได้รับประสบการณ์ที่ดีกว่า นอกจากนี้ ควรจดจำคำพูดที่เป็นกำลังใจว่าสิ่งสำคัญที่สุดคือ อย่าให้ใครมาทำลายความเป็นตัวเรา นักศึกษาควรมุ่งมั่นทำหน้าที่ของตนให้ดีที่สุด ไม่ปล่อยให้คำพูดหรือพฤติกรรมลบของผู้อื่นมาทำให้ท้อหรือหมดไฟ และที่สำคัญที่สุดคือไม่กลายเป็นคนที่ตนเองไม่ชอบเมื่อได้เป็นพยาบาลเต็มตัวในอนาคต ในเรื่องของการดูแลสุขภาพจิตระหว่างฝึกงานนั้น การฝึกฝนทักษะการจัดการความเครียด เช่น การหากิจกรรมพักผ่อน หรือพูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์กับเพื่อนร่วมงานหรือน้องๆ ในกลุ่ม จะช่วยเสริมสร้างความเข้มแข็งและลดความเครียดให้ดีขึ้น โดยเฉพาะเมื่อเจอพี่ใจร้ายที่อาจเป็นปัจจัยลบสำหรับนักศึกษาฝึกงาน สุดท้าย การให้ความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาความอดทนและความเข้าใจในจุดยืนของแต่ละคน รวมถึงการใช้วิธีสื่อสารที่เหมาะสม จะทำให้น้องๆ พยาบาลสร้างสัมพันธ์ที่ดีได้ในระยะยาว ทั้งกับพี่พยาบาลและผู้ป่วย ไม่ว่าจะเจอสถานการณ์ที่ยากลำบากแค่ไหนก็ตาม "Talk Nurse #Self-Love ฝึกงานครั้งนี้ เอาไงดีกับสุขภาพจิต" จึงเป็นประเด็นที่ไม่ควรมองข้ามในชีวิตการฝึกงานนักศึกษาพยาบาล เพื่อให้ทุกคนผ่านช่วงเวลานี้ไปได้อย่างมีสุขภาพจิตที่แข็งแรงและเติบโตจากประสบการณ์จริงอย่างแท้จริง
