5 The true story of "gender education" in Thai schools
(That many people may never know)
1️⃣ There are almost all schools... but not all are taught.
📚 Most Thai schools teach gender education.
But the content is often just focused.
• Biology
• Pregnancy
• Contagious diseases
• Bad effects and horrors
❌ lack of real-life significance, such as
• Sexual rights
• Rejection / bargaining
• Gender diversity
• Secure relationship
➡️ children "know the theory," but they can't use it.
2️⃣ The kid thought he knew... but he didn't.
🧪 A lot of girls think they understand the monthly cycle.
But the basic question is less than 30% correct.

• Use "emergency pills" in the wrong way
• Believe information from friends or the Internet
• Boys don't want to use condoms

3️⃣ The teaching method is also a lecture. Children don't dare ask.

จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวและการสังเกตเห็นการเรียนเพศวิถีศึกษาในโรงเรียนไทย หลายครั้งที่เด็กมีความรู้ในเชิงทฤษฎีแต่ไม่สามารถนำไปใช้ในชีวิตจริงได้อย่างถูกต้อง เช่น การใช้ยาคุมฉุกเฉินที่ผิดวิธี หรือการขาดความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับสิทธิทางเพศและการปฏิเสธอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ นอกจากนี้ วิธีการสอนแบบบรรยายเพียงอย่างเดียว ทำให้บรรยากาศการเรียนรู้เต็มไปด้วยความอายและไม่ปลอดภัยสำหรับเด็กในการตั้งคำถามหรือแสดงความสงสัย ส่งผลให้เด็กไม่ได้รับความรู้จริงที่สามารถนำไปป้องกันตัวเองได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ สิ่งที่สำคัญคือการเปลี่ยนแปลงวิธีการสอนให้กลายเป็นพื้นที่ปลอดภัย ที่เปิดโอกาสให้เด็กได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นและตั้งคำถามอย่างอิสระ โดยครูควรเปิดใจและเข้าใจมุมมองที่หลากหลายของเด็กในเรื่องเพศและความสัมพันธ์ นอกจากนี้ ผู้ใหญ่รอบข้างทั้งครูและผู้ปกครองควรสร้างสังคมที่สนับสนุนและไม่ตีตราเด็กที่ตั้งครรภ์วัยเรียน เพื่อให้กฎหมายคุ้มครองแม่วัยรุ่นสามารถมีผลอย่างแท้จริง ภาพกราฟิกที่เห็นในบทความได้ช่วยสะท้อนสถานการณ์จริงของท้องวัยรุ่นในไทยที่ยังมีช่องว่างด้านความรู้และการดูแล การผสมผสานความรู้ทางวิชาการกับการสร้างความเข้าใจในชีวิตจริงเป็นกุญแจสำคัญที่จะช่วยลดปัญหาที่เกิดจากการขาดความรู้และความเข้าใจในเพศวิถีศึกษาได้อย่างแท้จริง
