We’re grown, we’re no longer counting tables, we’re counting the seats and using discernment ✌🏼❤️🌞
I've found that as we grow, our perspective naturally shifts from just counting numbers—like tables or possessions—to truly valuing what those numbers represent, such as the people and experiences associated with them. For example, instead of simply counting the tables at a gathering, I focus on the seats filled by meaningful connections. This deeper reflection helps to prioritize quality over quantity. The phrase "this year is about removing chairs from the table" resonates strongly with me. It symbolizes letting go of unnecessary or unproductive relationships and distractions to make room for those that truly matter. Practicing discernment means we become more selective about where we invest our time and energy. It’s about fostering positive environments and relationships that contribute to our personal growth. In my own life, embracing this mindset has led to more fulfilling social experiences. Rather than trying to be everywhere and with everyone, I now carefully choose engagements that align with my values and bring genuine joy. This approach not only reduces stress but also enriches my connections, making them more intentional and rewarding. Ultimately, this shift from counting tables to counting seats is about maturity and self-awareness. It encourages us to evaluate what we allow into our lives, striving for authenticity and meaningfulness in all interactions. Reflecting on this can inspire us to live with greater purpose and clarity throughout the year and beyond.
