anime painting!!!

Hey everyone! So thrilled you're checking out my neon painting of Rebecca from Cyberpunk Edgerunners. I've been a huge fan of the series and Rebecca's character really caught my eye – her feisty personality and unique look are just so inspiring for art! I wanted to create something that truly captured the futuristic, neon-drenched world of Night City, and Rebecca felt like the perfect muse. When I started planning this piece, I knew I wanted to emphasize the 'neon' aspect. Her light blue skin, contrasting with her vibrant green hair and those intense red eyes, just screams Cyberpunk. I spent a lot of time getting those details right, especially the way her eyes seem to glow. And of course, I couldn't forget her signature pink bubblegum – it adds such a playful yet rebellious touch to her overall tough exterior. I aimed for a vibrant painting that pops out, even in regular light. The real fun began when I decided to incorporate UV reactive paints. I imagined Rebecca in a dark, grimy bar in Night City, with neon signs flickering everywhere. So, I painted her dark jacket with neon green accents, and placed her against a bright pink background with green lines to really make those elements stand out. But when you switch on the UV light, that's when the magic happens! Her eyes, the bubblegum, the chest markings on her outfit, and all those neon accents on her clothing and the background truly glow brightly in an almost otherworldly green and orange. It transforms the whole piece, giving it that dynamic, electric feel that the Edgerunners series is known for. It was a challenging technique, but seeing the final effect under UV light made all the effort worth it. For anyone interested in trying out neon or UV painting, my personal tip is to experiment with different brands of paint. Some react much better to UV light than others, giving you that intense glowing effect. Layering is also key; build up your colors gradually to achieve depth, especially with the darker tones to make the neon parts truly pop. Finding the right balance between the regular colors and the UV-reactive ones is a learning curve, but it's incredibly rewarding. I also found that a strong, contrasting background, like my bright pink background, helps to amplify the luminescence of the character. Rebecca is such an iconic character in the Cyberpunk Edgerunners world, and creating fanart like this is my way of showing appreciation for the amazing storytelling and character design. It's truly a joy to bring her to life on canvas, showcasing her unique aesthetic and the vibrant energy of the Cyberpunk universe.
