Why did no one tell me antibiotics destroy ur gut?

When I took Amoxicillin for my infection, I thought it was just medicine doing its job. But no one warned me about the “after” — the constant bloating, the weird sugar cravings, and that heavy feeling after every meal.

Antibiotics are lifesavers, but they also wipe out the good gut bacteria that control digestion, mood, and immunity.

Now, I always pair antibiotics with probiotics, yogurt, and fiber. It takes weeks to feel balanced again, but it’s worth it.

If you’ve ever felt “off” after antibiotics — you’re not crazy, your gut’s just trying to heal.

Honey, the people who are asking did you not read the side effects clearly didn’t read your comment. Sugar cravings, feeling bloated & heavy, are not listed side effects . Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue are, along with some others. But some of what you described is not, so this could be helpful for others who experience the same.
