BIRTHDAY SOLO TRIP OUT OF THE COUNTRY EDITIONš±
Dear Diary,
II wanted to celebrate my 25th birthday with my best friend, but she couldnāt afford to go.
I REALLY wanted to go to a resort in the Dominican Republic. The only way to go was alone.. I seen people on social media going to places alone so why canāt me ? So, I did it. I planned everything from who will pick me up to, to what outfits I will wear everyday.
I was a bit nervous because I was going alone. When I made it to Dominican Republic, my cousins picked me up and I spent an hour with them. This made all that anxiety go away. I was eager to get to the resort. I started making friends at the resort while waiting in the check in line.
When I got my room, it was beautiful. I started decorating my room with decorations I brought. Then, decided to meet up with the girl I met.
Later on, i had to go my separate ways. I was ay this resort for 5 days and every day I had met someone new. The employees grew found of me along with people visiting the resort.
I would get dressed, hang out by the pool, eat then at the night J would go clubbing at the resorts club. I met people in the lobby, at the club and excursion. At night we would go to the beach in a group. We would listen to music and talk. I had different guys interested in me. And of course drama because everywhere you stay for longer than 2 day, thereās a risk of drama haha. Nothing I couldnāt handle .
My birthday cake was a small cake I had gotten from the buffet. It wad perfect for me. I felt so beautiful that night. Unfortunately, I had bitten the worst heels from Forever 21. Letās just say they cost $30 and can only be worn minutes ! Not hours. It was a huge disappointment but I made sure to try my best to walk in them and take pictures.
The best part of my solo trip, was that I could do anything I wanted. i did not have to worry about people telling me what they can or not do. I woke up when I wanted and it was amazing. Made me realize that taking risks can be scary but they can be an amazing thing also.

The Dominican Republic is known for its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and welcoming atmosphere. Many travelers seek destinations that offer both relaxation and opportunities to meet new people, making this Caribbean gem a perfect choice. Before embarking on a solo journey, planning is crucial. Consider choosing all-inclusive resorts which often provide a streamlined experience with accommodations, meals, and activities in one package. This can alleviate some of the stress of travel planning and allows for spontaneous adventures. Safety is another essential aspect of solo travel. Make sure to research your destination, inform someone of your travel plans, and stay in well-reviewed accommodations. It's also wise to have a backup plan for navigating the area, such as having a local SIM card or offline maps in case you encounter connectivity issues. Engage in group activities like excursions or classes offered by resorts to connect with fellow travelers. Many resorts host themed nights or parties, offering perfect occasions to meet other guests and share experiences. Embracing opportunities to socialize can enhance your trip and create lasting memories. Finally, take time for personal reflection to appreciate your journey.
