Don’t confuse privacy with secrecy.
I’ve learned there’s a huge difference between being private and being shady.
For a long time, I told myself I was just “keeping things lowkey,” but deep down, I knew I wasn’t being fully transparent, not with others, and not with myself. I wasn’t protecting my peace… I was protecting my image.
Privacy is powerful when it’s rooted in peace, when you’re grounded enough to not need validation. But when it comes from fear, guilt, or wanting to control how others see you, that’s not privacy, that’s avoidance.
At some point, I had to check myself and ask: Am I being private because I value peace, or because I’m afraid to be seen for where I really am right now?
That question changed a lot for me.
Now, I share less, but with more intention. I’m open without oversharing. I’m honest without broadcasting everything. You can move quietly and still live with integrity, those things can coexist.
Privacy isn’t the same as secrecy. One protects your energy, the other hides your truth. And I’m done confusing the two. 🤍

Needed to hear this today. I've been asking myself that same question and it's eye-opening.
