Not My Usual Content: Politics
Not My Usual Content: Politics Warning.
The world is a scary place right now, and while this is a gaming and photography channel mostly, I have spoken on a few things under this moniker across social media before and will do so again in the future. I started a redbubble shop to sell stickers mostly (though | let all my designs be put on anything they worked for), and wanted to promote a piece I made for it specifically because of what's going on in my country right now, and to an extent the world at large. My shop can be found here https://www.redbubble.com/people/NilCaelum/shop
Sharing your beliefs through art and design can be both empowering and therapeutic, especially when the world feels uncertain and tense. I personally found that creating and promoting political stickers on platforms like Redbubble allowed me to channel my frustrations and hopes into something tangible that resonates with others. Stickers may seem small, but they are powerful tools of expression—whether you put them on your laptop, water bottle, or notebook, they spark conversation and solidarity. NilCaelum’s emphasis on issues such as democracy needing courage, supporting trans kids, protecting abortion rights, and standing with Gaza underlines a commitment to social justice that many people feel but sometimes struggle to articulate. Selling these designs on print-on-demand platforms ensures the creator’s hobby remains sustainable without seeking to profit excessively from others’ struggles, which is an important balance. For those interested in starting or supporting political art, here are some tips based on experience: 1. **Authenticity Matters:** Speak from your heart and lived experiences. Audiences connect to genuine messages. 2. **Respect Sensitivities:** Political topics can be divisive; clear warnings or opting out options prevent unwanted confrontation. 3. **Diversify Designs:** Offering non-political options alongside political ones can attract a broader customer base while maintaining your core message. 4. **Engage Your Community:** Use social hashtags effectively to reach supportive groups and spark meaningful dialogue. 5. **Understand Pricing Realities:** Print-on-demand products have set price structures; setting minimum earnings emphasizes the passion over profit. Ultimately, engaging in political expression through art fosters connection, raises awareness, and encourages courage in democracy. Whether you’re purchasing or creating, each sticker or pin is a small but powerful act of support for causes that matter.
