hi, i’m nina :)
For so long, I feel like the fitness and wellness industry was dominated by outdated fad diets in magazines, victoria’s secret models or do-or-die gym bros — it was all incredibly unappealing to me.
I never thought growing up (or at any point in my life) that I would be a powerlifter. I thought muscles would make me bulky, I didn’t want to look “manly” (🙄)
✨ If you found my page, I want you to know that:
#1 . muscles are the key to life’s questions (why were they gatekept from us women for so long??)
#2 . self-autonomy through self-exploration will keep you being the best version of yourself and
#3 . it’s never too late to change your lifestyle
Let’s live a healthier lifestyle together 🤍
Nina’s story resonates with many who have faced similar challenges around fitness and self-image, particularly during the isolating times of the COVID-19 pandemic. She experienced a significant weight gain over 50 pounds, which she initially struggled to overcome. Through persistence and self-reflection, she eventually lost 60 pounds and built strength, reshaping her mindset about fitness and wellness. What makes her journey especially powerful is her focus on self-autonomy—that is, taking ownership of one’s health decisions and embracing exploration to become the best version of oneself. For many women, societal myths have portrayed muscles as undesirable or 'manly,' but Nina challenges this misconception by highlighting how muscles can empower women physically and mentally. Her experience incidentally underscores the importance of mental health in wellness. Feeling unfulfilled despite having an engineering job, a partner, and a home, she realized that health isn’t just about appearance but also about fulfillment and confidence. An injury—a dislocated knee—became a turning point that catalyzed her commitment to a lifestyle change. Health experts frequently emphasize that sustainable weight loss and fitness are about consistent, manageable habits and self-love, not punishment or quick fixes. Nina’s approach aligns with these principles—emphasizing that it’s never too late to start changing your lifestyle in a way that feels authentic and empowering. For anyone on a similar journey, Nina’s message is to reject outdated fitness stereotypes, value strength as a vital aspect of life, and allow personal growth through self-exploration. By sharing her story, she invites others to join her in living healthier and more confident lives, reminding us all that wellness is a lifelong path with no expiry date.

I am going through the same struggle, and often times feel myself getting discouraged in my fitness journey. Thank you for sharing yours and the boost in morale 😊
