It's been an incredible journey bringing 'The Best Mistake' to life, and I'm so thrilled to share more about what readers can expect from this novel and the world of Driscoll U! You know how sometimes the biggest mistakes lead to the greatest discoveries? That's definitely the vibe I'm going for with this story. As the first installment, Book 1 of the Driscoll U Diaries series, it sets the stage for a group of friends navigating college life, love, and all the chaos in between. Each book in the series will be interconnected yet stand-alone, so you can dive in and out, but you'll definitely want to follow all the characters' journeys! For 'The Best Mistake,' I really leaned into some of my favorite romance tropes because, let's be honest, who doesn't love a good 'enemies to lovers' dynamic? There's something so delicious about two characters who initially can't stand each other, only to find themselves thrown into 'forced proximity' situations that spark undeniable chemistry. And for those who love a bit of angst and redemption, we've got a fantastic 'second chance' element woven throughout. It's about characters confronting their pasts and figuring out if they can build a future together, despite everything. Representation was super important to me, so I'm incredibly excited to feature 'mid/plus size FMC rep.' It's about seeing ourselves truly reflected in stories, and celebrating all types of beauty and strength. Beyond the central romance, 'found family' is a huge theme. College is often where you find your chosen tribe, those friends who become your lifeline, and the Driscoll U crew is no exception. They navigate everything from hilarious mishaps to heartbreaking challenges, always having each other's backs in their 'small town college romance' setting.
