When Croissants Meet Smash Burgers š„š
I tried making a smash burger on a croissant and now Iām not sure I can go back to regular buns. The croissant gets buttery & crispy, and the patties cook up super juicy.
Hereās the recipe š
1. Slice a croissant in half and set aside.
2. Form ground beef into loose balls, then smash them flat with a spatula.
3. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
4. Cook on a hot skillet until nicely browned, then flip and add American cheese so it melts.
5. Place the patties onto the croissant and add your favorite condiments. I used pickled jalapeƱos, ketchup, and mustard.
6. Close the croissant and serve immediately.
āļø Smash the patties really well. A thin patty gives you those crispy edges and helps the burger cook evenly.
āļø Toast the croissant in the same pan after cooking the patties. It soaks up the burger juices and gets a really nice buttery char.
