🍊 Because of the $5 orange juice night... a man became a $315.3 million millionaire.
The true story of Tayeb Souami, an immigrant who lived a frugal life in New Jersey, U.S.A.
In 2018, he bought orange juice for $5, but when he got home, his wife said that the other store sold for only $2.50, so he recommended it back.
Waiting to receive a refund at the counter, he saw a $315.3 million Powerball jackpot sign, and used the money he had just received to buy two lotteries.
The next day, a lottery changed his life forever because he became the only jackpot winner from a chance of about one in 292.2 million.
After receiving the lump sum, he did not rush to buy a luxury car or a mansion, but chose to retire his debts, pay for his house, and pay tuition for both of his children, saying that he would continue working until the company could find a replacement.
When asked by the reporter how it still feels about that box of orange juice, he said with a smile:
"Now... I love orange juice."
This does not prove that buying a lottery is the way to riches, because the chances of winning are slim, but it does reflect that knowing money, family listening, and making small decisions in life can lead to unexpected turning points.
