1. Preparation on the platform (GrabMerchant)
Because we mainly focus on online sales, the look of the store on the app is like our real storefront.
• Apply for GrabMerchant in advance: Prepare documents (ID card, bank account book page for payment, commercial registration certificate if available) and apply for the GrabMerchant app first, because the approval and opening process can take about 3-7 working days.
• Shop Profile & Logo Figure: The store profile photo in Grab must be clear, visually appealing, recommend using a delicious-looking signature coffee mug or easy-to-read store logo, even if customers scroll through the mobile screen quickly.
• Food Menu Photo: Most Importantly! The coffee menu in the app should have beautiful photos, clear light, pleasant to drink (recommended to be taken on a naturally lit day). A store with a full maine photo improves customers' chances of ordering more than twice as much as a store without photos.
2. Menu management and cost
• Menu Engineering: Small stores do not need to have too many menus that are difficult to manage. Highlight the standard menus that people order often (such as Americano, Latte, Iced Espresso, Green Tea, Thai Tea) and may add Signature Menu, a chic fusion menu to the store.
• Calculate latent cost (GP): Don't forget that selling on Grab will have a feed value (GP) of about 30% (plus VAT), so pricing the sale must be calculated to cover it.
Rough Calculated Formula: Raw Material Value + Ice / Glass / Lid / Bag Value + GP Grab Value + Preferred Profit = In-App Selling Price
Name Menus and Options (Modifiers): Write a short description of the flavors in the app to understand and make clear choices for customers to tick, such as sweetness level (100%, 50%, not sweet at all) or coffee bean type (dark roast / medium roast).
3.Equipment and package (for Delivery)
Delivering Delivery Coffee The most challenging thing is how to keep the ice from melting and the water from spilling.
• Glass and Lid: Choose a glass and a sealed lid (introducing a half lid or double lock) or a plastic glass lid seal. It's the safest.
• Six-proof sticker / clear tape: Use a paste to cover the tube hole on the glass lid to prevent water splashing during the rider's elder driving.
• Cup Holder: Choose a bag that fits the glass and has paper or plastic to lock the glass base from falling to tilt.
• Ice Separation (Alternative): For some cold menus, splitting the ice in a separate bag and putting the coffee in a separate bottle or glass will help maintain the concentration of the coffee very well when reaching the customer's hand.
4. In-house management system (Workflow)
The first time the store was opened, the backyard system had to be stationary to make orders.
• Jane Coffee Corner: Separate the coffee brewing zone, pack zone, and the point of waiting to be delivered to the rider. For quickness, because in Grab, "cooking speed" affects store ratings.
• Prepare ice stocks and raw materials: Because they are made at home, the amount of ice must be calculated to fit each day (unicorn ice or small tube ice melts more slowly than crushed ice).
• Prepare to make a sign: If the house is in an alley or the coordinates of the pins on the hard-to-access map, you should write a note that clearly indicates how to travel for the rider in the app or a small sign on the front of the house for the rider to find.
5. New store opening period marketing
• Store Opening Promotions: Grab usually has a "New Open Shop" tab or promotion for a new store. During the first 1-2 weeks, a discount promotion is recommended or a matching set (such as coffee + candy) to encourage people to try their first order.
• Brief Thank You Cards: Write a small thank you card into the bag. In addition to looking attentive, it also makes it easier to get a 5-star review score in the app (reviews and stars affect the store's visibility).
