Resident Alien S4 Review

Okay, fellow humans (and aliens!), I just finished binging Resident Alien Season 4, and wow, do I have a lot to unpack! As a huge fan from day one, I always look forward to Harry's latest shenanigans in Patience, Colorado. This season, for me, felt like a bit of a rollercoaster – it had some incredibly high points that reminded me why I fell in love with this show, but also a few moments where I felt like it was finding its footing. First off, let's talk about Harry. Alan Tudyk continues to be an absolute masterclass in physical comedy and delivery. His alien perspective on human customs never gets old, and this season brought some truly laugh-out-loud moments, especially with his ongoing quest to understand emotions and his unique approach to problem-solving. I particularly loved the dynamic between him and Asta. Their bond has evolved so much, and this season really highlighted their deep, albeit unconventional, friendship. Asta's struggles felt incredibly relatable, and her journey was genuinely compelling. One of the things I always appreciate about Resident Alien is its ability to blend sci-fi elements with genuine human drama and hilarious comedy. Season 4 didn't shy away from that. We saw more development for characters like D'Arcy, who continues to wrestle with her past and find her place. Her arc felt very authentic, and I was rooting for her every step of the way. Even characters like Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv got some fantastic moments, adding to the rich tapestry of Patience. Their quirky investigations and growing friendship are always a highlight. However, I did feel that at times the pacing was a little uneven. Some plot threads felt rushed, while others lingered a bit longer than I expected. Without giving away spoilers, there were a few new elements introduced that felt a little out of left field initially, but by the end, they mostly tied together in a way that left me excited for what's next. The central mystery of the season still kept me guessing, and the stakes felt genuinely high for Harry and his friends. The show continues to explore themes of identity, belonging, and what it truly means to be human (or alien trying to be human). Harry's internal conflict and his growing affection for humanity are always at the core, and this season deepened that exploration beautifully. The emotional beats really landed, especially in the latter half of the season. I found myself tearing up at certain moments, which is a testament to the show's writing and the actors' performances. Overall, was Resident Alien Season 4 a perfect season? Maybe not quite, but it was still incredibly enjoyable and a strong continuation of Harry's story. It delivered on the humor, the heart, and the quirky sci-fi elements that make it so unique. If you're a fan, you absolutely need to watch it.
