There is soooo much I want to say about this book without giving too much away.
First, don’t let the 111 chapters deter you from reading this book. The chapters are so well written you don’t even realize you’re flying through it. From the first few chapters, it had me hooked. From Lyra and her sassy attitude and cunning comebacks. To Hades and his broody “touch her and 💀” attitude..kind of helps that he is the King of the Underworld🫣. Lyra is literally sucked into this competition called the crucible as a champion for Hades. He has ulterior motives, she wants the curse that she was gifted at birth lifted. In the end, a plot twist that I was not expecting popped out…well I guess..popped in 😮💨..but each Greek God creates their own trials or ‘Labors’ ..each champion has to complete it to receive a gift from that God. In the end, the champion that wins the most Labors, their God, is granted King or Queen of the Gods. Each Labor brings its own set of rules and trials.
Who will win the Crucible and grant the crown of King/Queen of the Gods?? 🫣🤔
