🚨 BREAKING: New reports from Ukraine show heavy damage and dozens of injuries
Efforts to deal with the aftermath of yesterday’s Russian strikes continue in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi and Podilskyi districts. Nearly 100 State Emergency Service personnel are involved. In total, around 300 sites across Kyiv were damaged. Most of them are residential buildings – over the past day, notifications of varying degrees of damage were submitted for nearly 150 private homes and apartment blocks.
As of now, 87 people are reported to have been injured in the capital, including three children. Twenty-one people have been hospitalized, while the rest are receiving outpatient care. I am grateful to the medical workers treating and supporting our people. I thank everyone involved in recovery efforts, all emergency and public services.
Overall, six of our regions were affected by yesterday’s attack. Protection must be strengthened: support for air defense remains a daily priority of Ukraine’s foreign policy work at every level. And pressure on the aggressor – along with accountability for all these strikes – must be ensured. I thank the partners who condemned yesterday’s attack and everyone ready to help us with concrete steps.

Having closely followed the unfolding situation in Ukraine, it's clear how deeply the recent Russian strikes have affected Kyiv's communities. The damage to residential neighborhoods like Shevchenkivskyi and Podilskyi districts is not just structural; it disrupts daily lives, forcing many families to cope with uncertainty. What stands out is the remarkable response from the State Emergency Service personnel, who are tirelessly working amidst the chaos. From my experience witnessing emergency responses in crisis zones, their quick deployment is vital in managing immediate dangers and helping injured residents access care promptly. The reported injuries, including among children, highlight the humanitarian impact beyond mere statistics. Hospitalization indicates the severity of some cases, while outpatient treatment suggests ongoing medical support at the community level. In addition, the focus on air defense underscores the strategic urgency. Strengthening protection against repeated attacks continues to be a priority not only for Ukraine’s defense but also in diplomatic efforts aimed at securing international support and accountability. On a personal note, following reliable updates from official services such as ДСНС УКРАІНИ (State Emergency Service of Ukraine) provides assurance about transparency and coordination on the ground. It’s also a call for the global community to contribute concretely—beyond condemnation—to aid recovery and defense capabilities.
